The European Alliance for Medical and Biological Engineering and Science (EAMBES) is a non-profit scientific society dedicated to promoting Biomedical Engineering (BME) and Medical and Biological Engineering and Sciences (MBES) throughout Europe. Founded in 2003, EAMBES serves as a unified voice for the European BME community, federating national and transnational scientific societies, academic institutions, and research centers. The Associazione Italiana Ingegneri Clinici (AIIC), founded in Milan in 1993, is the primary Italian professional organization dedicated to the protection and advancement of the clinical engineering profession. AIIC plays a crucial role in the national healthcare landscape by promoting the integration of clinical engineering services within healthcare facilities as a fundamental element for the governance of biomedical technologies.
